As per National Mental Health Survey 2016, more than 17 crores (14%) of Indian population needs mental health intervention. Still, one out of ten people utilizes the professional help for mental health problems. There is a huge gap between the services needed urgently and services available to reduce burden.
The lack of awareness about mental health problems and stigma associated with them are the main contributing factors which hurdle in the use of mental health services. We at Mindroot Foundation is concerned with addressing this global issue.
